LEARNING FOR EUROPE THROUGH EXPERIENCE - EFEU

Educational training methods for European citizenship with disadvantaged and handicapped young people

The aim of the project to give young disadvantaged and handicapped people an idea of what Europe means and to include them in to the educational training for European citizenship.

The project shall contribute to the active participation of young disadvantaged and handicapped people at the development of Europe and help them to find out and use their included chances.

The value of the project is the inclusion and networking of all members of the European Union connected with developing of a methodical material especially for the target group of disadvantaged and handicapped young people which is usable in all participating countries.

Especially for the target group is the method of learning oriented on experience a very suitable possibility, because it is realizable without special language-abilities.

“Europe as an Experience" – this is our main objective. At least we want to produce a handbook of methods about „Educational training on European citizenship".

The project is leaded by a national and an international steering team (France, Poland, Germany, Finland, Netherlands and Hungary). The members of the steering team are mentors to the other participating countries. The main activities will take part in Germany. During various activities in the participating countries we will develop and try out diverse methodical materials.

Project representatives from Latvia are Association POSITIVE MIND in cooperation with Tukums Special boarding school and with coofinancing from Tukums town Council.

The end product – a methodical handbook - can be used by all interested people. It can also be ordered on the national agencies of the program "Youth" or "Salto" respectively.
